Big budget healthy delivery
HERMITAGE Hastings Medical centre has received its first addition of a multimillion dollar equipment upgrade.
The centre is now home to a state-of-the-art computed tomography machine or (CT scanner).
Head CT radiographer Jo Stanley said the recent addition allows staff to acquire high quality images of any part of the body. The new machine is also designed to put out minimum radiation levels during the scanning process.
Business development manger Sue Pohlmann said the scanner means patients no longer have to travel to Newcastle or Sydney.
“It’s particularly beneficial for seniors who might not travel too well,” she said.
A new magnetic resonance imaging machine or (MRI) scanner will also be delivered in a few months time.
